Two-Storey Building Collapses After Heavy Rain Batters National Capital

A two-storey building collapsed into a drain after heavy rainfall lashed Delhi on 19th July 2020.

The visuals show the multi-storey building comes crashing down heavily and being swept in the huge drain that was flowing behind it at the Anna Nagar area near IP estate in East Delhi.

The bystanders watch the incident as they scream for the occupants to get out as it is on the verge of the collapse.

A man starts shouting to ensure there were no occupants inside the building at the time of the collapse.

The foundation of the building might have loosened due to the flowing drain behind it and the condition was worsened after the heavy downpour early morning.

The fire engines and the Centralized Accident and Trauma Services (CATS) rushed at the spot to rescue the people, but fortunately, no one was trapped or harmed in the incident as they had already vacated the property before the collapse.

The opposition and citizens claimed that it was the failure of the Kejriwal government which caused the flooding and building collapse in different parts of the national capital.

Manish Sisodia admitted the fact and said that the government was busy tackling COVID-19 which led to the lapse and that things would be rectified soon.
