A mentally challenged girl was gang-raped by two men in the Indraprastha park of the Indian capital, New Delhi on September 16th.
The woman who is assumed to be in between 22-23 years-old was accosted by two men and taken to a park only to be raped and left to die.
The men thought that the girl was dead and fled the spot. A few bystanders who saw an unconscious girl lying semi-naked in the park raised an alarm and informed the police officials.
The girl was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.
As per the reports of Times Now, “Further inquiry revealed that the girl had been living at the Sarai Kale Khan bus stand for the past few days and had gone for a stroll in the park when she was attacked. Two unidentified men spotted her alone and pulled her behind the bushes where they took turns raping her.”
The police tried to ask the girl about the rapists but she was unable to give a clear description about them.
One of the police officials said to ANI, “The survivor is said to be a mentally-challenged woman which is why she is unable to give a clear description of assailants.”
The Delhi police also tweeted, “A mentally depressed woman was allegedly gang-raped at a bus-stop in Sunlight Colony area by two men who approached her on the pretext of providing food, on 15 September.”
Apart from the fact that the girl was sexually abused, police also found bite marks and marks that indicated that the perpetrators had thrashed the girl and forced her to give in to the heinous crime.
