In a shocking incident, students were seen cleaning the toilet in a viral video which is being believed to be from a primary government school from Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.

News agency ANI tweeted a screengrab from the viral video reporting the plight of the school children.

While the agency and the public raised a concern regarding the treatment meted out to the school student, the District Magistrate Tanvi Sundriya came in support of it by claiming that there was nothing wrong as the children must be taught about cleanliness even if it is imparted by making them clean toilets.

Tanvi Sundariya in a statement to ANI said, “If the students are given practical education on cleanliness in school, I do not think there is anything wrong in it.”

While many objected saying that it was not the right way to teach the students about cleanliness, some said it could lead them to catch an infection or have serious health concerns.

This is not the first incident when the school students were seen cleaning the toilet. Earlier, six-year-old girls were ordered to clean utensils in toilets at Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh.
