Marathi Actor Mandar Kulkarni, Arrested For ‘Sexual Harassment’ During Photo Shoot


It has just been a few days when Vidya Balan had opened up about the ‘Casting Couch’, we can see yet another similar incident due to which a Marathi actor cum director Mandar Kulkarni, was arrested for sexually harassing a 17-year-old minor girl during a photoshoot in Pune, Maharashtra.

The Pune police arrested Mandar Kulkarni who is said to have acted in some commercial plays earlier and he also runs some theatre workshops.

The police arrested the actor on a complaint filed by a 17-year-old girl who said Kulkarni had called her to his apartment on the pretext of a photoshoot and harassed her sexually.

In a statement given to the media, the police said that Kulkarni had asked the girl to wear some dresses and then a Bikini and clicked her pictures.

Although the girl had agreed on getting her photos clicked in the dress, she had objected to wearing a bikini and get her photos clicked.

The actor managed to convince her by showing some pictures of other models and said that it was perfectly normal.

The girl, however, gave in at that moment, she later went home and narrated her ordeal to her parents who then approached the police to file a complaint.

A first information report (FIR) was registered under section 354 (outraging woman’s modesty) of the IPC as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and Mandar Kulkarni was arrested.
