COVID-19: Man Thrashed for ‘Sneezing At Others’ in Kolhapur

A biker was thrashed by another road user after he was found sneezing in public amidst rising fear of corona cases in Maharashtra.

Another biker who was crossing beside him found the man sneezing without any cover on his mouth.

The incident took place in the Gujari area of Kolhapur in the state of Maharashtra in India on 17th March.

The incident occurs amidst rising threats of coronavirus disease spreading like a wildfire in the state of Maharashtra and has now got its grip in entire India except the state of Bihar as of now.

The CCTV footage shows two bikers in parallel when one of the bikers tried relieving himself by sneezing in the public.

A passenger from the back seat holds the collar of the man and starts thrashing him in public.

Soon a crowd of spectator gathers and tries to break the fight causing a standstill in the traffic.

No official police complaint was registered after the incident and the person was let off after a minor scuffle.

This is the first case of the panic seen among the public in India.

According to the World Health Organization, the deadly virus spreads through spitting, sneezing or coughing or physical contact with an infected person.
