Tied To A Charpoy, Dalit Man Burnt Alive In UP Over Love Affair

Another love story with a horrible end took place in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

A 22 years Old Dalit youth was tied to a charpoy and burnt alive by the members of the family of a woman with whom he was in a love relationship.
The tragic incident took place on Sunday 15th September in the Village of Hardoi.

Additional Superintendent Of Police (East) Gyananjay Singh said, ” Monu Kumar ( 22-year-old Dalit youth) was in love with his neighbour Shivani Gupta( 21-year-old from an OBC) who used to live with her uncle and aunt at Bhadaicha Village of the Hardoi district.

On Saturday, Monu’s mother was taken to a district hospital as she was not well, she was then transferred to a hospital in Lucknow.

Monu was sent to his home by his father to bring some money from where the guy went to meet his girlfriend. He was then caught by the girl’s family and was tied to a charpoy and then burnt alive using Petrol.

After his parents came to know about the incident, they rushed to the Police station and intimated about the incident. A team of cops soon reached the village and found Monu in a severely burnt condition. He succumbed to his injuries while on the way to the hospital.

Police have booked a case against 5 members of the girl’s family that includes the girl, her uncle and aunt, and two more villagers, under murder charges.

The two villagers identified as Satyam Singh and Shikhar Singh are however absconding.
