This is the heart-warming moment when the UP police officers save newborn girl who was left to die in a drain in the police lines area of Badayun in Uttar Pradesh.
A local who was passing by heard the cries of the baby and went to check only to discover the girl smeared in the dirt fighting to live.
The local immediately raised an alarm and informed the local police who then arrived on the spot and rescued the baby from the drain.
The police officials included a team of constables identified as Santosh Kumar and Narendra Singh, constables Shri Nivas, Rishi Pal and Aditya Kumar.
One of the constables then jumped inside the drain and pulled out the baby. The baby was later rushed to the hospital where the doctors admitted her in the Neonatal ward and begun her treatment.
While speaking to the media one of the constables who pulled out the baby from the drain said, “After reaching the spot, we saw that the newborn child was lying in the drain. I rescued her from the drain and shifted her to the district hospital. I feel lucky for being able to save someone’s life.”
Ashok Kumar Tripathi, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said that the officials on duty will be felicitated for their brave and kind act.
While the police have also lodged a complaint under the IPC section 317 (exposure and abandonment of a child under twelve years) against the unknown person who left the baby to die in the drain.
The police are investigating to find out the culprit involved in this.
While India has reached for Mars we live in a society where a girl child is either killed inside the womb or is left to die in a drain.
She was lucky that she was saved by the cops but there must be many who die fighting for their lives while waiting for heroes like these.
